Alex + Ani's Summer Solstice Wedding
You are warmly invited to the Backyard Garden Party Wedding of Anje Monte Calvo and Alexander Carritte at our home in Seattle (ask a punk)
IMPORTANT: Please RSVP to our registry to let us know if you’re coming, how many will be in your party, and what meal options you prefer.
This event is a casual backyard garden party. We will have shade and shelter for hot or inclement weather, but you will need sensible outdoor shoes.
We encourage guests to wear comfortable clothing, and eclectic outfits are welcome. Summer solstice is the vibe. This is a celebration of life, love, and nature.
We will have catering at the event and I’m in the final stages of securing a wonderful local, worker-owned restaurant.
There will be live music, horseshoes, as well as more dangerous activities for your entertainment.
There will be beer, wine, and an espresso bar and ice cream for affogatos.
We’ll play music and have a bonfire that evening until we’re ready to crash out.
ALSO: Saturday we’re inviting friends and family to a day at nearby Lake Washington. Guests can use our two kayaks and canoe or rent their own watercraft,
Saturday evening we’re renting out the Beacon theater to screen one of our favorite films: the religious horror film Frailty starring Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey, Powers Boothe, and directed by Bill Paxton himself.
Frailty focuses on the strange relationship between two young brothers and their father, played by Bill Paxton, who believes that he has been commanded by God to kill demons disguised as people.
Our home is near the SEATAC airport so any hotels in that area will be convenient. There’s also a very nice lakefront hyatt regency in Renton, 12 minutes from our home.
For a more seattle-centric hotel we recommend the neighborhoods Fremont, Columbia City, Beacon Hill, and the U district, but Capitol Hill, Belltown, Pioneer Square are also close to us.
There are also plenty of campgrounds and a KOA in SEATAC that I would recommend.
Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a towel if you want to play in the lake, and water shoes for the rocky beach.
Guests are encouraged to leave children at home. There will not be much room for them to run around nor will there be much for them to do. If other arrangements cannot be made, they are more than welcome to attend. Please let us know in the RSVP form if you are bringing a child.
We appreciate that many of you will have to travel to attend the wedding, ergo we do not expect gifts in addition to your presence.
If you would like to get us an additional gift, please consider contributing to our Home Improvement + Honeymoon Fund
Thanks so much for being a part of our lives and we’re excited to see you this summer.
